  • Kessler Chemical, Inc. was founded in the summer of 1973 during very turbulent times in the worldwide chemical industry. The oil embargo by OPEC countries was producing severe supply problems of crucial petrochemical feedstocks, as well as long lines at the gasoline pumps. Whatever petrochemicals could be obtained, which were relatively few, were often sold at inflated prices. It was indeed a difficult time to start a profitable chemical business.

    Barry Kessler, the founder and current President of Kessler Chemical, Inc., succeeded. His years of employment experience both in technical service with Union Carbide's Chemicals Division, and in sales management with Witco Chemical's U.S. Peroxygen Division, gave him a sound basis to chart a course in an uncertain industry.
