Kessler Chemical, Inc. was founded in the summer of 1973 during very turbulent times in the worldwide chemical industry. The oil embargo by OPEC countries was producing severe supply problems of crucial petrochemical feedstocks, as well as long lines at the gasoline pumps. Whatever petrochemicals could be obtained, which were relatively few, were often sold at inflated prices. It was indeed a difficult time to start a profitable chemical business.
Barry Kessler, the founder and current President of Kessler Chemical, Inc., succeeded. His years of employment experience both in technical service with Union Carbide's Chemicals Division, and in sales management with Witco Chemical's U.S. Peroxygen Division, gave him a sound basis to chart a course in an uncertain industry.
Two important elements were focused upon as critical to the success of this new business; a commitment to exceptional customer service, and market research. With these as the cornerstone of the company's philosophy, it was determined that if we were to succeed in this highly-competitive industry, we had to identify strategic markets, and then work to become 'The Best'.
In 1995, Gary Kessler was added to the management team as Marketing Director to head-up new market development for the company. His chemistry background along with his experience in marketing, management, and finance provides Kessler Chemical with an opportunity to effectively serve the dynamic chemical requirements of our customers into the future. Gary currently serves as Vice President.
Three and a half decades later we have grown into a respected supplier of organic intermediates, specialty solvents, and fine chemicals. In 2004 we achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification to establish a quality system consistent with customer expectations. We maintain packaging and warehousing facilities in the U.S. to efficiently serve your logistical needs. Additionally, in this age of global markets, and supply chain management, we develop and maintain relationships with domestic and foreign raw material manufacturers in order to offer you a broad variety of products, the advantage of worldwide price competition, and customer-specific logistical solutions.
